“Chad takes students thinking to another level. He has shown me how to give freely and live in peace. Being in Nature has changed how I looked and explored the world. He has helped provide the knowledge of finding peace and balance and I've applied it to my life in stressful situations. He helped shape and mold me through my fear of darkness. He helped me believe that I could be a leader. I'm grateful to have met and to be mentored by you.”  -Mariah HIll

"Throughout my lifetime I have found myself to gravitate towards things that are wholesome and light. When I was just a 13 year old student evolving with the help of Horizons- Upward Bound (HUB) I crossed paths with a long haired, cosmopolitan, man who didn't look like me, but was composed of the same light I had shining within me. He helped develop my light by giving me the opportunity to be a leader during HUB Wilderness. He encouraged me to reflect on my skills and be aware of my weaknesses. He allowed me to share my light with students year and year and also encourage them to develop. With his leadership, skills and abilities he has created a chain of self awareness, self preservation, self love and light that has linked together the participants of Horizons-Upward Bound, also known as family. 'He' is also known as Coyote or Chad O'Kulich, or a man who creates pure energy and pure life adventures."

"Over the past five years, Chad has been such an incredibly insightful, caring person who helped me resolve overwhelming personal conflicts, and grow in more ways than I could have imagined. His ability to listen, process information, and provide effective, actionable guidance has allowed me to be successful in becoming more confident and happier than ever before. Chad is one of the most influential people in my life, and I look forward to continuously growing from more of his guidance, for years to come." -Kennie Kernen

"One of the most important lessons I have learned that forgiving someone isn't just the sake of  making someone else feel better; it is a matter of freeing yourself from that grudge, from that negativity. Your mentoring has instilled in me a foundation of values for self-love. My connectedness to my feelings and sense of self came from you teaching me the simplest task- having a sit spot. I practice sit spots to this day to help me slow my thoughts, and become aware of my surroundings, which in turn gives me a clearer mind to evaluate what is really worth my energy. This skill alone has gotten me through my hardest times so in this way, you've been with me in my hardest times. I am eternally grateful for you and your teachings. Gracias y Miigwetch." -Taylor Peterson

"Chad has strong leadership skills and a solid understanding of interpersonal relationships. In the many years we’ve known each other, Chad has helped me along on my path of leadership and growth by teaching me patience and understanding as well as the importance of being aware of yourself, others, and the environment around you in all circumstances. Chad is a great man and teacher; anyone who has an opportunity to work with him should seize it. I can promise you that you won’t regret it."

"I have never met someone who possesses as much passion and dedication to helping others than Chad O’Kulich.  I can now proudly say that thanks to Chad, I am able to decompress to relieve anxiety and stress and take a step back to slow down life and truly appreciate the world in which we live in. Thanks to Chad, I am now something much more than happy: grateful.  Chad’s positive energy will always resonate within me and those who surround themselves around him. I am so grateful to be able to call Chad my coach and mentor, but most importantly, a lifelong friend." - Stephen Luckoff
